Internship Opportunities

Internship
From time to time we have opportunities available for internships. Internships may include room and board at the farm, a small stipend, and the chance to learn a great deal of invaluable information through hands-on work.

Please contact us for more information.

“Hello! I am an Environmental Science student at Colorado Mesa University and I first met Kathy when she gave a composting seminar for our school’s Sustainability Council. Her knowledge and enthusiasm for soil science was contagious and I was inspired to complete my internship at Soil Stewardship. Kathy spent the summer teaching me everything I would ever hope to learn about composting, and then some! I was able to use my knowledge to serve as the first student Composting Director at the start-up composting facility for CMU. Kathy advised us with every step along the way, and with her help we were able to fund and build a facility that handles all of the University cafeteria’s pre-consumer food waste. The finished compost is used in the Sustainable Agriculture gardens to grow food for the Culinary Arts kitchen. Kathy helped us develop this vision for a closed loop system and her expertise was essential in making this goal a reality on our campus.”
